RA Minister of Diaspora organizes reception for
participants of Golden Apricot Film Festival

YEREVAN, JULY 16, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. Numerous
Diasporan Armenian artists from different countries of the world
this year as well participate and has represented films of
different genres at the Golden Apricot Yerevan International 6th
Film Festival. The RA Minister of Diaspora organized on that
occasion a reception in honour of the film festival
participants.
According to the Press and Public Relations Department of
the RA Ministry of Diaspora, the heads of the Yerevan Beer
Factory agreed with pleasure to carry out the reception. Here,
in a free and easy conditions, the film festival organizers, film
producers, directors and cinematographers expressed their
viewpoints and professional opinions about films which have
already been shown. Canadian Armenian actress Arsinee Khanjian,
American Armenian actor Eric Bogosian, American Armenian
director Eric Nazarian, German Armenian director Norik
Keshishian, Georgian famous director Nana Djordjadze, Russian
famous film critic Kirill Razlogov, other participants and
guests of the festival almost unanimously expressed an opinion
that Golden Apricot year by year becomes more representative
and widens borders of its authority. More and more young
artists strive for representing their films to the society
through Golden Apricot, at the same time expecting to get
any prize of the already authoritative film festival. The
Diasporan Armenian Director's Best Film prize defined by the RA
Ministry of Diaspora found its honourary place among the prizes
of the 6th film festival.
RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobian warmly greeted the
film festival organizers, participants, jury members, all the
guests of the film festival, attached importance in her speech
to artist's high goal of arising global problems in the language
of art and giving a reason for thinking to spectators of many
millions, assisting formation of a strong connection between the
world-spread Armenians and Homeland through the art of
cinematography.
The Minister expressed a hope that the special prize
defined by the Ministry of Diaspora will find its prize winner
at the time when it will be possible to give a complete
estimaion of a given film from both ideological and artistic
viewpoint.
