Events held in Canada dedicated to the 96th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

On April 25 the commemoration event dedicated to the 96th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide took place in the Armenian Embassy of Canada. The leaders of two eparchies of Armenian Apostolic church and those of Armenian Catholic and Armenian Evangelical churches, heads of Armenian parties of Canada, organizations and unions, pupils of Armenian schools, representatives of media, hundreds of people from Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto were present there. During the event flowers were laid near the "Immortal Armenia" monument. Temporary attorney of affairs of RA in Canada Arman Hakobyan made a speech. The commemoration event continued in front of the parliament of Canada, and then it was followed by the rally in Ottawa streets as well as by protest in front of Turkish Embassy. s The Prime Minister of Canada Steven Harper made a speech dedicated to the 96th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
