Dear compatriots, Today the whole Armenian people remember one and a half million innocent people who have fallen victims to the Armenian Genocide. We bow our heads to their memories keeping deep in our hearts the sense of debt and resoluteness to do everything possible for international recognition of this monstrous and unprecedented crime. The world should undoubtedly recognize and condemn the first Genocide of the 20th century to prevent such violence directed against the mankind in the future. We expressed special gratitude to all the countries, which stood by the side of the Armenians having survived by a miracle from the severe massacres organized and implemented by the Ottoman empire, to all those who are with us today and help restore historical justice. This year the 1915 Genocide victims Day coincided to the Day of Christ's miraculous resurrection. It has a profound meaning. Hope, faith and devotion to the Motherland are these very values that have helped us to survive in the hardest conditions. We, the Armenian people must always remember the lessons of the 1915 tragedy and prevent its recurrence. We should be strong and powerful, united and soldered serving to the common goal of making strong and prosperous the Armenian people and the Armenian statehood. Stepanakert, April 24, 2011.
