discuss issue of opening Armenian-Turkish border

YEREVAN, MARCH 25, NOYAN TAPAN. During the March 24 meeting
with the Executive Director of the World Bank Rudolf Jan
Treffers, RA Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsian said that the
anti-crisis program developed by Armenian government envisages
provision of credits to small and medium enterprises by the
state, organization of large-scale construction work in the
earthquake zone, implementation of a number of projects in
construction sector, etc. Besides, work is being done on
infrastructure reforms, creation of the bases of stable
management systems, and capacity building.
According to a press release of the Information and PR
Department of the RA Ministry of Economy, a number of issues
related to economic cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
N. Yeritsian and R.J. Treffers also spoke about the possible
opening of Armenian-Turkish border and its impact on the
Armenian economy.
R. J. Treffers is the regional head of a group of 13
countries, including Armenia. The main purpose of his visit is
to become acquainted with the directions of development of the
Armenian economy under conditions of the global financial and
economic crisis, and to discuss the anti-crisis programs
developed and implemented by the Armenian government.
