YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 12, NOYAN TAPAN. Hundreds of activists
and supporters of Armenia's radical opposition, in particular,
of the Armenian National Congress, on February 12, held a
regular action of protest in the yard of Shengavit community
general jurisdiction court. A regular court sitting on the "case
of the seven" was envisaged at the court. Like the previous
sittings' days, this time also there were a great number of
policemen and representatives of Police special detachments in
red berets in the streets near the court, who did not permit
those gathered to come up to the court building. As one of the
action participants stated in his interview to Noyan Tapan
correspondent, the demonstrants' demand remains the same, urgent
release of the political prisoners.
The action lasting for nearly 2 hours was held without
serious incidents.
