Millennium Challenge Corporation postpones issue of
allocating 6.8 million dollars to Armenia

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 15, NOYAN TAPAN. At the December 11
sitting, the Board of Directors of the Millennium Challenge
Corporation (MCC) expressed concerns about democratic governance
in Armenia, Radio Liberty reported. The MCC Board of Directors
underlined that it expects Armenia to fulfil its obligations and
implement real reforms.
The MCC Board of Directors decided that it will again
consider the issue of allocating 6,811,305 dollars to the
Millennium Challenge Account for rehabilitation of rural roads
and improvement of irrigation networks in Armenia in March 2009.
At the same time Radio Liberty reminded that a sitting of
MCA-Armenia's Governing Council with the participation of the
Armenian prime minister took place on December 10, during which
the bid for 10th allocation to be submitted to MCC for programs
to be implemented in the first quarter of 2009 was ratified.
