MONETARY BASE GROWS BY 2.2%, BROAD MONEY BY 1.8% IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN. The monetary base made
435 bln 775 mln drams (1 bln 423 mln USD) in Armenia as of
August 31, 2008, increasing by 9 bln 535 mln drams or 2.2% on
the previous month.
According to data transferred by the Central Bank of
Armenia to the RA National Statistical Service, the broad money
made 753 bln 412 mln drams as of August 31, 2008, growing by 13
bln 68 mln drams or 1.8% on the previous month.
The balance of the population's deposits with banks made
217 bln 785 mln drams as of August 31, 2008, growing by 5 bln
773 mln drams or 2.7% on the previous month, and by 63 bln 874
mln drams or 41.5% as compared with the same date of 2007.
