Discipleship with Data - Historically Unprecedented $10+ Million Pilot Launches to Elevate Christian Education in Armenian Churches

A new chapter in Christian education is unfolding — and it starts with strategy. On April 11, 2025, Khachkar Studios announced a US$10+ million pilot program that integrates modern education principles into church life across the U.S. Armenian community.
At the center of the program is KPI #1: Non-Holiday Badarak Faithful (“The Faithful”). According to 2024 research, only 13,000 Armenian Americans regularly attend nonholiday services — barely 3% of the total population. To close this gap, Khachkar Studios is working with 37 shortlisted churches and providing them with $40,000– $80,000 annually to implement eight proven activities that elevate Christian education.
These include expanding Bible study hours, conducting outreach home visits, training church leaders, and developing educational content. Each activity is designed to be completed with just six hours of shared weekly time and is supported by mobile-friendly tools.
The performance model is rooted in Social Return on Investment (SROI). Every activity is measured, benchmarked, and ranked for effectiveness. Churches are asked to consider one fundamental question: How well are we educating and retaining the faithful — and what’s the return on our investment of time and resources?
The April 2025 Pilot Briefing Packet outlines the full program design, including a consolidated financial statement for all 164 Armenian churches in the U.S., church performance rankings, and the 10 most critical analyses from Khachkar Studios’ broader research library of over 200 studies.
The studio is also investing heavily in educational media. Its seven workstreams — short clips, podcasts, events, written content, news, music, and analyses — are designed to build faith literacy across all ages. This investment exceeds the combined media efforts of all Armenian churches in the U.S. by more than 25 times.
Khachkar Studios, in partnership with the Charles & Agnes Kazarian Foundation, JIAnalytics, and Japonica Partners, is redefining how churches can teach, train, and retain future leaders of the faith.
By treating education as both a spiritual and strategic priority, this pilot is an invitation to churches everywhere: discipleship must be planned, resourced, and evaluated — just like any successful mission.
