YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 4, NOYAN TAPAN. The first games of the
third round of Women's World Knockout Chess Championship in the
Russian city of Nalchik are scheduled for September 4. Lilit
Mkrtchian will play against Harika Dronavali of India. US-based
Katerina Rohunian lost to Inna Gaponenko of Ukraine and withdrew
from the further struggle.
Thus 16 female chess players continue to compete for the
champion's title.
