YEREVAN, AUGUST 1, NOYAN TAPAN. The working group, which was set up by instructions of the RA Ombudman Armen Harutyunian, on July 29 went to Yerevan-Kentron penitentiary where it met with the penitentiary head and inquired about health of Myasnik Malkhasian. The penitentiary head said that due to poor health of M. Myasnikian, medical advisor of penitentiaries Khanamirian was invited. After examining Malkhasian, he said the content of sugar in the blood of the National Assembly deputy under arrest exceeds the norm. Then the group members met with M. Malkhasian who told them that he suffers from regular blood fluctuations, headaches, nausea, and has problems caused by cold. In his words, at the invitation of relatives, chief endocrinologist of "Armenia" medical center examined him and recommended that M. Malkhasian should receive in-patient treatment which is impossible in conditions of Yerevan-Kentron penitentiary. NT was informed by the Information and PR Unit of the RA Ombudsman Staff that in accordance with the RA Law on Ombudsman, A. Harutyunian applied to the RA prosecutor general Aghvan Hovsepian with the request to discuss the issue of either replacing arrest by other precautionary measure for M. Malkhasian or allowing him to receive in-patient treatment.
