YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 20, NOYAN TAPAN. An orchard of Armenian
fruits, first of all - vines, fig-trees and apricot-trees, will
be planted in Thailand. NT correspondent was informed by Songsak
Vong Bumivat, the head of the advisory department of Thailand's
ministry of agriculture and cooperatives that the creation of
this orchard is envisaged by the agreement signed between the
ministry of agriculture and cooperatives of Thailand and the
ministry of agriculture of the RA.
According to him, the favorable climatic conditions,
especially in the north and south of the country, make it
possible to grow Armneian fruits in Thailand. It is also
envisaged to grow some tropical fruits in Armenia.
According to S.V. Bumivat, their purpose is to increase
imports of Armenian production into Thailand. "We take interest
in Armenian wines and brandies and we intend to export these
products," the representative of Thailand's ministry of
agriculture said.
