During the response match of the 2nd qualification stage of UEFA Champions League in Donetsk (Ukraine) on August 8, the local "Shakhtyer" defeated "Pyunik" (Yerevan) with a score of 2:1. To recap, "Pyunik" had also lost the match in Yerevan with a score of 2:0, so as a result of these two matches "Shakhtyer" passed to the second stage.
