YEREVAN, JUNE 21, NOYAN TAPAN. Second International Youth Chess Tournament will be held from June 24 to July 3 in Jermuk. Its initiator and organizer is the Armenian Chess Republican Academy. Noyan Tapan correspondent was informed about it by grand master Smbat Lputian, Academy Chairman. In his words, it is planned to make the tournament traditional, to create a possibility for young Armenian chess-players to communicate with representatives of chess schools of different countries, to enrich their experience. "Resort cities have many examples of holding international tournaments. We wish Jermuk also to become known in the world thanks to chess," S. Lputian said.
