SOCIAL HEALTHCARE CENTER TO START OPERATING FROM OCTOBER 1

YEREVAN, JUNE 21, NOYAN TAPAN. On the initiative of the
Mission Armenia charity NGO a four-storeyed construction is
being built in the Kanaker-Zeytun community of Yerevan, where a
Social Healthcare Center and a Social House will operate. As
Noyan Tapan correspondent was informed by Armine Hareyan,
organization's Spokesperson, they are intended for 34 lone old
people and two socially insecure families. In her words, these
families, which should have children without fail, will help the
old people in solution of some demestic problems, making
purchases, calling a doctor if necessary.
Social Healthcare Center will be on the first two floors of
the building. Socially insecure old people living in that
territory can also free of charge use services of Center's
charity canteen, first-aid post, laundry, hairdressing saloon,
bath-house, dentist's room, cafe, entertainment center, computer
room and gymnasium. A. Hareyan said that for providing Center's
self-financing these services will be paid for another groups of
population.
A. Hareyan said that the construction activities will
finish in August and the official opening of the building will
take place on October 1, International Day of Old People.
It was also mentioned that the program is implemented with
the financing of Agency of Development and Cooperation under
government of Switzerland, Embassy of Germany in Armenia,
Armenian Office of UN High Commissioner for Refugees and
Norwegian Council for Refugees.
