YEREVAN, JUNE 14, NOYAN TAPAN. On June 14-15 28 reports, in
general, will be introduced during the 28th republican
scientific session of the Young Orientalists held in Yerevan.
They are dedicated to the problems of the history, politics,
international relations, as well as the linguistics and
literature of the Middle and Near East countries. The reports
"The Turkish-Azerbaijani military cooperation in the context of
the Azerbaijani armed forces' reforms", "The activities of the
US Turkish and Azerbaijani organizations", and " The Kemalist
Movement and the formation phases of the republic of Turkey", in
particular, will be presented.
According to Gor Gevorgian, the Chairman of the Youth
Orientalists' Council of the RA NAS Institute of Oriental
Studies, the conference is of great significance especially for
the development of oriental studies. In his opinion, the
introduced subjects are not only of historical but also of
modern political significance, as Armenia is situated in such a
region that is the crossroad of conflicts of political,
economic, and a number of other interests. G. Gevorgian believes
that in this sense oriental studies are of strategic
significance for Armenia.
It was mentioned that the collection of the subjects of the
scientific session has been published and will be delivered to
some educational centers of the USA and Europe cooperating with
the Council of the Young Orientalists.
