YEREVAN, MARCH 23, NOYAN TAPAN. "The Armenian Interface
Package" (AIP) functioning in the Windows XP operational system
and developed under the Local Language Program of Microsoft
company has been prepared. Director of Microsoft RA company
Grigor Barseghian stated this at the March 23 presentation of
the Armenian Interface Package. In his words, AIP functions on
the basis of English version of Windows XP system - for the use
of the interface-language preferred by local users.
According to G. Barseghian, thanks to joint work of Bi-Line
company and the IT Development Support Council of Armenia,
information technologies (IT) will become more accessible to
over 7 million Armenian speakers, especially those who do not
know English and prefer to use their native language in their
personal computers.
Chairman of Bi-Line Hayk Khanjian said that the work on AIP
development started in 2005 when Microsoft company provided a
an over 2,300-word terminological dictionary for translation.
"Later it was used and developed by Bi-Line company which as
Microsoft's partner assumed the job of development and
implementation of this program," H. Khanjian noted.
G. Barseghian stated that work on development of AIP of
Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 will start soon.
It was noted that the Armenian Interface Package is free of
