The 8th”Golden Apricot” film festival ends

On July 16, the official closing ceremony of the 8th “Golden Apricot” film festival took place in “Moscow” cinema, where German director Vim Vender’s “Pina” film was shown by 3D format. The official closing ceremony continued in “Latar” complex hall an hour later than it was scheduled. The reason for the delay was the rain. Yellow raincoats were given to the guests and the participants. “The nature is always more powerful than we, but the style of the closing ceremony was very original,” announced French actor and director Serzh Avedikyan. Atom Egoyan gave “Parajanov’s thaler” prize to Hungarian director Béla Tarr. In International Feature Film Competition, a “Golden Apricot” was bestowed upon “Nader and Semin, the Separation” by an Iranian director Asghar Farhadi. “Silver Apricot” was awarded to “The Journals of Musan” by Park Jungbum. The Special Jury Prize was given to “The Prize” by Paula Markovitch. In International Documentary Film Competition, Golden Apricot went to “The World according to Ion B.” by Alexander Nanau, Silver Apricot was awarded to Summer Pasture” by Lynn True, Nelson Walker III, Tsering Perlo; Magnificent Nothing by Ahmad Seyedkeshmiri was given a Special Mention. In Armenian Panorama Competition Program, the general award went to “Loading My Life” by Haroutyun Shatyan; Silver Apricot went to “The Spaceship” by Emil Mkrttchyan; “The Last Hippie of the Pink City” by Anastasia Popova was given Special Mention. In Golden Apricot “Stone” Competition for Short Films, the Golden Apricot went to “Glasgow” film by Piotr Subbotko, Special Mention was given to “Bicycle” film by Serhat Karaaslan. FIPRESCI Jury Prize went to “Mandoo” by Ebrahim Saeedi. Ecumenical Jury awarded “Europolis” by Cornel Gheorghita. Hrant Matevosyan Prize went to Emil Mkrttchian for the film “The Spaceship”. The prize established by British Council went to “Loading My Life” by Haroutyun Shatyan. The same film won “Nvard” prize. The Special Prize of the Armenian Film Academy “Unique Artistic View” went to “The Prize” by Paula Markovitch.
