ANOTHER 8 SCHOOLS OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION TO WORK IN 2007 IN

YEREVAN, JANUARY 18, NOYAN TAPAN. It is planned to introduce inclusive education system in another eight Armenian schools in 2007, four in Yerevan and four in Tavush region. The inclusive education system provides special conditions for organizing teaching of children needing education in comprehensive schools. Currently six schools of inclusive education function in Yerevan. As Noyan Tapan correspondent was informed by Shushan Matevosian, Responsible Person for Educational Programs of Huysi Kamurdj NGO engaged in problems of disabled children, spade-works aimed at introduction of the system are implemented in these eight schools, with 85 pupils needing special conditions of education, 32 teachers have already passed retraining there. By the way, according to the data of RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues, 8300 children aged 18 and below are registered in the database of disabled, 11.5% out of which are children below eight years.
