77.6% OF RETAIL TRADE IN ARMENIA IN JANUARY-OCTOBER 2006
CONDUCTED IN SHOPS AND CONSUMER CONNODITY MARKETS

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 11, NOYAN TAPAN. Trade conducted in
Armenian shops and consumer commodity markets (471 bln 385.1 mln
drams or over 1 bln 108 mln USD) accounted for 77.6% of retail
trade in the country in January-October 2006.
According to the RA National Statistical Service, in the
indicated period trade turnover in consumer commodity markets
made 170 bln 222.6 mln drams (at current prices).
Armenia's consumer commodity markets are mainly specialized
in sale of non-food commodities, with their share making up
83.1% of trade conducted in consumer commodity markets.
As of November 1, 2006, the commodity stock at retail trade
outlets made 62 bln 132.9 mln drams.
In the period of January-October 2006, trade conducted in
agricultural production markets made 17 bln 555.9 mln drams, or
2.9% of retail trade.
