YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 30, NOYAN TAPAN. At the November 30
sitting, the Armenian government made a decision to approve the
order of receiving information necessary for determining the
usual price of a commodity. According to the RA Government
Information and PR Department, the decision was taken in order
to ensure efficient organization of the process of receiving
information necessary to decide the usual price of a commodity
with the aim of determining the amount of dumping and using
antidumping measures on the import of commodities into Armenia.
It was mentioned that in order to bring the Armenian
legislation into line with the provisions of the WTO's Main
Agreement on Customs and Trade, in the period preceding the
country's joining, the Armenian government passed a number of
laws, including the RA Law on Antidumping and Compensation
Measures. The law stipulates that the import of commodities is
considered as dumping if these commodities were imported into
the Armenian market at prices lower than their usual ones. This
fact by itself makes important the process of determining the
usual price, which is impossible without receiving the necessary
information which forms the basis for determining the amount of
dumping and using antidumping measures directly connected to it.
With the aim of organizing the receiving of information
necessary to calculate the usual price in an efficient way, it
was decided to stipulate the calculation procedures in a legal
act.
