YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 23, NOYAN TAPAN. The RA Constitutional Court on January 23, 2007, will examine verbally the case accepted for examination based on the application of 30 deputies on the initiative of the National Assembly "Orintas Yerkir" faction. The application disputes the constitutionality of the provision of the Law on the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission that prohibits disputing the commission's decisions on tariffs. The defendant is the RA National Assembly that passed this law. To recap, during the October 3 sitting of the parliament, when making a statement about the dollar-dram exchange rate fluctuations, the chairman of the Orinats Yerkir Party Artur Baghdasarian considered as comical the reality when "the tariffs of gas, electricity and water continue to be the same, while the dollar depreciates and the tariffs set by decisions of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission may not be disputed."
