CHIR COMPANY PLANS TO EXPORT 20 TONS OF DRIED FRUIT AND
VEGETABLES IN 2007

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 9, NOYAN TAPAN. Chir company has exported
17 tons of dried fruit and vegetables this year and plans to
increase exports to 20 tons in 2007. Tigran Tsaturian, director
of Chir CJSC, told NT correspondent that only a few years ago
the company, which was founded in 1997, used to export only
300-500 kg annually. Dried fruits are mainly exported to
European countries.
According to T. Tsaturian, the company also constructs
special buildings where fruit and vegetables can be dried
exposed to the sun. In all, the company produces 7-8 kinds of
dried fruit, dried tomatoes, eggplants and various spices. The
company's director said that dried tomatoes are in great demand
in international market. This year the company purchased 300
tons of tomato, with only 16 tons of dried tomatoes being
produced from this amount.
