YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 6, NOYAN TAPAN. On the instructions of Yerevan Mayor, preparation for winter is underway in all the communities of the city. Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Vano Vardanian stated at the November 6 press conference that roofs of a total surface of 83 thousand square meters have been repaired, 750 tons of salt and 3,600 cubic meters of sand has been stored. According to V. Vardanian, this winter 21 apartment buildings will be heated by the centralized system, if possible this number will be increased to 30. He said that the mayor's office has already reached an agreement with several companies, according to which starting 2007, the centralized heating systems in Avan and Davidashen communities of the city will be again put into operation.
