ARMENIAN DRAM APPRECIATES BY 13.7% AGAINST US DOLLAR IN

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 2, NOYAN TAPAN. A 2.3% growth in consumer
prices was registered in Armenia in September 2006 on December
2005. During the indicated period, the Armenian dram appreciated
by 13.7% against the US dollar. According to the RA National
Statistical Service, consumer prices and the settlement rate of
the dollar declined by 3.6% and 6.5% respectively in the same
period of last year.
The decline in consumer prices and the settlement rate of
the dram against the dollar made 0.3% and 3.5% respectively in
Septmeber on August 2006.
In September 2006, the average settlement rate of the US
dollar against the Armenian drams made 387.89 drams, which is
lower by 14.6% than the respective index of last year (454.42
drams).
