YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN. The Council of
Businessmen under the RA Prime Minister discussed the facts of
corruption provided by the US embassy and came to the conclusion
that these facts do not correspond to reality, Armenian Prime
Minister Andranik Margarian stated at the September 13 briefing.
According to the US embassy, these documents were received from
the company Global Gold Mining that was recently deprived of its
licence to explore the Marjan mine in Sisian.
A. Margarian said that the documents of the US embassy do
not contain a proof that the RA Nature Protection Minister
Vardan Aivazian took a bribe.
He noted that Global Gold Mining complains that the
government violates the company's rights. However, in the words
of A. Margarian, it is one of those usual disputes between an
economic entity and the government that should be settled in
court. A. Margarian added that he has been advising Global Gold
Mining to apply to court for six months.
