YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 6, NOYAN TAPAN. World-famous singer Tony Arnold's (soprano) and violinist Movses Poghosian's (residing in America) concert will be held on September 6 at Yerevan Chamber Music House after Komitas within the framework of the 7th International Music Festival "Prospects of the 21st" initiated by the Armenian Music Information Center. As composer Stepan Rostomian, Center's Art Director, informed journalists at the September 6 press conference, the premiere of the Hungarian composer Kurtag's "Kafka Fragments" will be held, as well as fragments from Armenian composers' works will be performed. Violinist M.Poghosian said that "Kafka Fragments" composed in 1985 is a complicated work and it is very difficult both to perform and to listen to it. In the violinist's words, many musicians do not dare to perform this work. "Kafka Fragments" has been recorded only three times up to present. M.Poghosian said that this work by Kurtag, performed by him and T.Arnold, will be recorded for the fourth time by November. T.Arnold is sure that though the work is complicated, the audience will like it. "I am glad that the Armenian premiere is presented by me and M.Poghosian," the singer said. Tina Arnold is a laureate of many international competitions. Currently she teaches at the U.S. Buffalo University and is the founder of the HEARD ensemble of the same University.
