METALLURGICAL PRODUCTION GROWS BY 5.2% IN ARMENIA IN

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 6, NOYAN TAPAN. In January-July 2006,
Armenia's metallurgical enterprises manufactured production of
63 bln 596.8 mln drams (about 144.5 mln USD), which exceeds by
5.2% the index of the same period of last year. According to the
RA National Statistical Service, metallurgical industry
accounted for 27.9% of the total industrial production.
Out of he main products of metallurgical industry,
molybdenum concentrate production grew by 40.7%, production of
copper - by 9.7% in January-July 2006 compared with the
respective index of 2005. The production of ferromolybdenum and
black copper declined by 8.5% and 9.1% respectively.
