YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 27, NOYAN TAPAN. Problems of
Armenian-Egyptian cooperation in the cultural sphere were
discussed on February 26, during the meeting between Abla
Mohammad Abdelrahman, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt
to Armenia, and Gevorg Gevorgian, RA Minister on Culture and
Youth Affairs.
As Noyan Tapan was informed from the Press Service of the
RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador of Egypt hoped that
the cultural cooperation between the two ancient countries will
become closer in the future. According to Mrs Rahman, the Egypt
as a country having accumulated a great experience in the
archeology sphere is ready to provide support to the
archeological excavations done in Armenia, re-construction works
of the historic-cultural models and monuments. And as a new
sphere of cooperation, the Ambassador mentioned that the film
producers of his country are interested in the joint film
production, as well as in the Armenian nature and the
possibility of doing filming on the spot.
The Minister Gevorg Gevorgian thanked the Ambassador for
the interesting suggestions. Taking into account the provisions
of the practical program of the cultural cooperation signed
between the Ministries of Culture of the two countries in 2005,
Gevorg Gevorgian offered to present concrete programs, that will
relate to the restoration of the incunabular books,
museum-pieces, to the publishing work, archeological
excavations, holding of the national holidays, organizing mutual
exhibitions and cinematographic art. The Minister also hoped
that the works of the Egyptian film producers will be displayed
at the Armenian "Golden Apricot" (Voske Tsiran) international
film festival.
