ETCHMIADZIN, FEBRUARY 10, NOYAN TAPAN. The 9th Assembly of the World Council of Churches (WCC), the general theme of which is "God, in your grace, transform the world" will take place in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil, on February 13-24. As Noyan Tapan was informed by the Interchurch Relations Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, 14 deputies will participate in this gathering from the Armenian Apostolic Church: the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. They will present the activity of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Armenian Apostolic Church to the assembly participants. WCC assemblies are general meetings of this interchurch structure which are convened once in seven years. A new heading body is elected during the assembly and decision is made concerning further seven years of activity.
