YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 7, NOYAN TAPAN. The presentation of the "Yergits" journal took place at the Journalists' Union of Armenia on February 7. Works of Armenian and foreign caricaturists, most of which were published in various periodicals in the past, are included in the journal published on the initiative of the Caricaturists' Union of Armenia. According to Sukias Torosian (Toto), the President of the Caricaturists' Union of Armenia, this kind of journal is published for the first time not only in Armenia but in the region as well. According to him, the Caricaturists' Union of Armenia will also publish the first number of the "Armyanka" satiric journal in Russian till spring. "In the whole world the caricature is paid a great attention to, but in Yerevan this genre is not only buried in oblivion, but isn't considered as a separate branch of art", he said. Sukias Torosian also informed that a number of events and festivals will be organized in Armenia in order to develop the genre of caricature.
