YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 11, NOYAN TAPAN. A less number of
textbooks and additional literature than it was envisaged was
sent to Diasporan Armenian schools this year as there were some
problems with the Georgian side. As Tamara Zalikian, the main
specialist of the Department of Ties with Diaspora of the RA
Ministry of Education and Science mentioned in the interview to
the Noyan Tapan correspondent, however, the deparment managed to
find other ways for sending a part of those.
According to her, textbooks published in Armenia are mainly
sent to Georgia as the greatest number of Armenian schools
acting in Diaspora are here. Those are more than 150 ones, 122
of which are only in Javakhk. T.Zalinian also mentioned that
Armenian schools acting in Georgia are called schools with deep
education of the Armenian Language.
According to T.Zalinian, some groups of textbooks for
primary and middle school is sent to the Russian Federation as
well. It was mentioned that Diasporan Armenian schools and
colleges mainly need Armenological literature. Those schools
present orders to get necessary textbooks beforehand, and the
orders mainly concern textbooks on Armenological literature.
To recap, this is the second year that 70 mln drams (about
140 thousand US dollars) are allocated by the state budget for
textbooks published for Diasporan Armenian schools.
