YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 4, NOYAN TAPAN. An exhibition-sale of
works by pupils of "Veratsnund" ("Revival") art school of
Italian district of the town of Spitak opened on November 4 in
Yerevan. Needleworks, embroidery, ceramic works were presented
at the exhibition.
The "Veratsnund" art school was founded in 1994 by Antonio
Montalto, Honorable Consul of Italy to Gyumri, Chairman of the
"Care for Family" NGO. According to him, the creation of the art
school was a valuable contribution to childrens' life as they
have limited possibilities to express their own attitude.
Besides, as he mentioned, it became a center of hope for people
who remained alone with their psychological problems after the
destructive earthquake, experiencing unemployment and hard living
conditions.
A spinning circle opened in 2001 in the art school and a
carpet section was founded in 2004.
The gain from the exhibition-sale will be used for buying
materials necessary for school's activity.
