MOSCOW, January 21 (Noyan Tapan). The Armenian champion
"Pyunik" dropped out of the further contention of the great
football tournament, the "Cooperation Cup" traditional
tournament of the football champions of the CIS and the Baltic
states held in Moscow. Placing first in "C" group, the Armenian
champion "Pyunik" competed with the Azeri "Neftchi" team in the
quarter final, which registered victory in D group. The Azeris
beat the Armenians with a score of 2:0. In the semi-final
"Neftchi" will meet with the Ukrainian champion "Dinamo" (Kiev).
The champions of Lithuania and Russia "Kaunas" (Caunas) and
"Lokomotiv" (Moscow) will compete in the next semi-final.
The finals of the 13th tournament of "Cooperation Cup" will
be held on January 23.
