YEREVAN, JANUARY 19, NOYAN TAPAN. Results of the "Publishing and Spreading of Interpreted New Electoral Code" program of the Communities' Republican Association of Armenia were summed up on January 19. As Alexey Petrosian, the Assistant of the Armenian delegation head at the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe mentioned, within the framework of the program, the guidebook "Elections of Local Self-Government Bodies: Questions and Answers" was published in 17 thousand copies in September, 2005, which was given to all participants and observers of electoral processes of the local self-government bodies. According to A.Petrosian, after spreading the guidebook, 24 seminars were organized for voters and people participating in electoral processes which supported effective holding of elections of local self-government bodies taken place in September-October. According to him, compared with the previous elections of local self-government bodies, the population participated in the elections held in September-October, 2005, more actively, violations of a smaller number took place at polling stations. The "Publishing and Spreading of Interpreted New Electoral Code" program was published with assistance of the "Eurasia" fund of the U.S. Agency for International Development and the "Couterpart International."
