YEREVAN, DECEMBER 19, NOYAN TAPAN. Armenia plans to sign
agreements on cooperation in the social security sphere with the
Netherlands, Bulgaria and Georgia. Artem Asatrian, Head of the
Pension Department of RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues,
informed about it on December 17. According to him, the
documents to be signed with Bulgaria and Georgia are already
being coordinated.
As A.Asatrian informed, in particular, Russia and the
Ukraine have raised the question of making changes in the CIS
interstate agreement in the sphere of social security (1992).
The head of the department mentioned that it's suggested that a
foreign citizen who has made payments to the social insurance
system of a CIS country should have a possibility to receive
pension in the country of his citizenship, from the system of
the country that received the payment. According to the
agreement, each CIS country is obliged to appoint pension to a
citizen of another CIS country permanently residing in its
territory.
