YEREVAN, DECEMBER 15, NOYAN TAPAN. An Armenian woman was
repatriated on December 15, with the assistance of the
International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC). She had passed from
the territory of Armenia to Azerbaijan by chance in early
December. As Noyan Tapan was informed by ICRC Armenian Office,
ICRC acting as a neutral mediator at the suggestion of the
Azerbaijani and Armenian authorities, assisted the repatriation
after the ICRC delegates had assured that this woman returns to
her homeland of her own free will.
From the beginning of its activity connected with the
Nagorno Karabakh conflict, since 1992, ICRC has assisted in
repatriating and moving of 654 persons.
