NUMBER OF STUDENTS OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
LESS BY 27% THAN IN 1991

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 6, NOYAN TAPAN. 85 state and 23 non-state
vocational educational institutions function in Armenia. 29 500
and 1800 students study in those institutions, respectively. As
Noyan Tapan correspondent was informed by the Department of
Vocational Education of the RA Ministry of Education and
Science, as compared with 1991, the number of vocational
educational institutions increased by 20%, and that of the
students (40 600) decreased by 27.3%. At present the share of
vocational education makes only 4 percents in the country's
education budget.
The new list of professions of vocational education has
been approved lately. All professions, the need of which
the market has today, in essence, are included in that list.
At present 4300 teachers work at the vocational educational
institutions.
