YOUNG ARMENIAN CHESS-PLAYERS CONTINUE STRUGGLING FOR WORLD
CHAMPIONSHIP MEDALS

YEREVAN, November 9 (Noyan Tapan). The world youth chess
championship proceeds in the Greek town of Heraclion. The
winners of the championship will be decided in 5 age-groups,
between 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18-year-old chess-players. So, 10
tournaments of boys and girls are simultaneously held and
several hundreds of young chess-players participate in them.
21 chess-players representing Armenia participate in the
championship. They participate in the tournaments of all
age-groups. The majority of the Armenian representatives play
successfully and they are among the leading chess-players. After
6 rounds 9 of them gained 4.5 and 3 of them 4 points.
