On September 2, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edwar Nalbandian took part in the meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Affairs’ Ministers held in Dushanbe in the frames of the events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Organization. The agenda of the meeting included around two dozen issues related to the CIS and sectoral cooperation structures that function within the frames of the Organization, including issues of cooperation in the spheres of law enforcement and security, and interaction in the spheres of culture and migration. The participants of the meeting exchanged views on the analytical report entitled “The Results of 20-Year Activities of CIS and Perspective Issues,” where the 20th year experience of the cooperation is assessed in the security, economic, humanitarian and other priority directions in the frames of the organizations, as well as formulated the steps to be undertaken towards the further strengthening of the CIS. The Ministers also touched upon the proposals on amending the agreements on cooperation in a number of spheres. During the meeting the Foreign Ministers of the CIS countries discussed and approved the agenda of the Council of the Heads of the States and issues that were to be discussed, as well as approved the document that would be presented during the upcoming meeting of the Council of the Heads of the States to be held on September 3.
