AREMIAN VIOLINIST MOSCOW DWELLER TO PERFORM IN ARMENIA
BENEVOLANCE CONCERT PROGRAM

YEREVAN, May 03 (Noyan Tapan). Karen Shahgaldian, an
Armenian talented violinist, Moscow dweller, winner of
international competitions, will perform in Armenia a solo
beneficial concert. Twenty seven years old violinist will play
the unique instrument made by Antonio Stradivarius, belonging to
the State Fund of the Musical Instruments of the Russian
Federation. Karen Shahgaldian is the second Armenian violinist
who was honored to play the violin of the outstanding master.
As Samvel Mesropian, deputy chairman of Beneficial
Foundation for the Cultural Development, stated during the May
3 briefing, the beneficial concerts will be held in Yerevan,
Gyumri, Spitak and Vanadzor. The young violinist will perform
the violin concertos by Bach, Vivaldi, Mendelson, Richard
Straus. No fees are charged for the concerts.
Karen Shahgaldian performs concert program in Armenia for
the first time."I came to Armenia in 1998 for the first time. I
am coming to Armenia every year since then. I like Yerevan very
much. It is changing and becoming more beautiful year after
year," the musician emphasized. Karen Shahgaldian spoke of the
Armenian composers with admiration, particularly mentioning the
names of Avet Tereterian, Alan Hovhannes, Tigran Mansurian.
Karen Shahgaldian, will leave for New York on May 16 just
after the concerts in Armenia.
