On December 9, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian met with Adnan Mansour, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon who is in the delegation led by the President of Lebanon arrived in Yerevan. Welcoming his Lebanese counterpart, the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs mentioned that the official visit of the Lebanese President paid to Armenia would more strengthen the Armenian-Lebanese relations based on the ancient traditions of the friendship. “I emanate warm feelings towards Lebanon as I started my diplomatic activities over 35 years ago in Beirut and I have a lot of friends in your country,” said Minister Nalbandian. In his part, Minister Mansour noted that the relations between Armenia and Lebanon are on the high-level and his country is interested in more expansion of the partnership with Armenia. By the assignment of the Heads of the two countries, the Ministers discussed the steps to be undertaken towards the organization of reciprocal visits and regular contacts, and the development of bilateral cooperation. In this regard, the necessity to complete the existing high-level with the deepening of the cooperation in economic, educational, cultural and other spheres was mutually underlined. It was mentioned that the bilateral documents signed today would be a serious impetus in that direction. An agreement was reached about holding regular consultations between the MFAs of the two countries. The sides exchanged views on international and regional issue, particularly the developments underway in the Arab world and the settlements of the Middle East and Nagorno-Karabakh issues, the Press, information and public relations department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia informs.
