YEREVAN, OCTOBER 12, NOYAN TAPAN. A cooperation agreement was signed between the Yerevan State University and the Dubna International University on October 11, which envisages cooperation in the spheres of science, education, and culture between the two higher educational institutions. Aram Simonian, the Rector of the Yerevan State University, considered the signing of the agreement as important since the Dubna University is an intensively developing scientific center, which is replenished with the material and technical basis and is envolved in the activities of the Nuclear United Institute. According to the Rector of the Yerevan State University, this agreement will play a great role in the training of personnel, as it will become possible not only to organize retraining courses for the scientific workers of the state university, but also to send students to Dubna, at the same time organizing both their education and research work. Aram Simonian also mentioned that the Yerevan State University is cooperating with other research centers and laboratories operating in Dubna. According to the information provided by Alexei Sisakian, the Deputy Head of the Dubna University, these two higher educational institutions have started cooperation since 1956. An exchange of scientific workers working at nuclear reactors has been conducted for many times between the above-mentioned two universities. "This agreement in another step for the development of not only the sphere of physics between the two scientific centers, but in other spheres as well," he said. The complete package of the agreement envisages a joint development of educational programs and investment in both universities. Alexei Sisakian awarded the Rector of the Yerevan State University the title of a real academician of the RF Academy of Natural Sciences.
