YEREVAN, OCTOBER 12, NOYAN TAPAN. A cooperation agreement
was signed between the Yerevan State University and the Dubna
International University on October 11, which envisages
cooperation in the spheres of science, education, and culture
between the two higher educational institutions.
Aram Simonian, the Rector of the Yerevan State University,
considered the signing of the agreement as important since the
Dubna University is an intensively developing scientific center,
which is replenished with the material and technical basis and
is envolved in the activities of the Nuclear United Institute.
According to the Rector of the Yerevan State University,
this agreement will play a great role in the training of
personnel, as it will become possible not only to organize
retraining courses for the scientific workers of the state
university, but also to send students to Dubna, at the same time
organizing both their education and research work. Aram Simonian
also mentioned that the Yerevan State University is cooperating
with other research centers and laboratories operating in Dubna.
According to the information provided by Alexei Sisakian,
the Deputy Head of the Dubna University, these two higher
educational institutions have started cooperation since 1956. An
exchange of scientific workers working at nuclear reactors has
been conducted for many times between the above-mentioned two
universities. "This agreement in another step for the
development of not only the sphere of physics between the two
scientific centers, but in other spheres as well," he said. The
complete package of the agreement envisages a joint development
of educational programs and investment in both universities.
Alexei Sisakian awarded the Rector of the Yerevan State
