SUB-PROGRAM OF ASSISTANCE TO TEACHERS DISMISSED AS A RESULT
OF OPTIMALIZATION OF RA SECONDARY EDUCATION SYSTEM FINISHES

YEREVAN, JANUARY 17, NOYAN TAPAN. The sub-program entitled
"School Staff's Optimalization and Social Assistance" of the
"Education Quality and Correspondence" program being financed by
the World Bank is close to its end. Teachers dismissed as a
result of the optimalization of the secondary education system
of Armenia were shown corresponding assistance within the
framework of the program. As Sona Haroutiunian, the Chief of the
RA State Employment Service agency informed at the January 16
press conference, 518 teachers were involved in the professional
education program in 2006, 65 ones were involved in the
sub-program of giving removal grant, and 916 people were shown
additional monetary assistance.
S.Haroutiunian mentioned that in general, about 1700
teachers found work as a result of implementation of the
program.
The agency Chief stated that about 1600 teachers registered
in the territorial centers, but not involved in the programs
will be given possibility of being involved in the program in
2007. It was also mentioned that the latters will be shown about
3 times more financial assistance. So, a teacher moved to
another settlement with his family to work will be given one-off
assistance at the size of 1500 U.S. dollars corresponding drams.
and a teacher going alone will be given one-off assistance at
the size of 900 U.S. dollars.
