MONOPERFORMANCES' SHAKESPEARIAN FESTIVAL STARTS IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. The 3rd international monoperformances' theatrical festival, which will be called "Shakespearian" from this year, started with the performance of Karine Khodikian's play "Tractate about Handkerchief" (producer Hakob Ghazanchian) in Yerevan, on September 12. As Hakob Ghazanchian, the Director of the festival mentioned monoperformances' festival being held already for the 3rd year continues finding out new secrets of the theatrical art in that direction. Actors and producers from different countries of the world participate in this festival named after "Shakespeare." Andranik Margarian, the RA Prime Minister sent the welcome address to participants of the festival. The welcome speech particularly refered to traditions of the 2000-years old Armenian theater, which having had difficulties during the last period, was able to overcome them and start a new stage of development, evidence of what is holding of this and other similar festivals in Armenia. The Prime Minister expressed hope that this festival will find its deserving place in the history of the Armenian Festival.
