Strasbourg - John Prescott (United Kingdom, SOC) and Axel Fischer (Germany, EPP/CD), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on the honouring of obligations and commitments by Armenia, will make a fact-finding visit to the country on 16 and 17 March 2011. According to the Parliamentary Assembly Communication Unit, they will be focusing in particular on outstanding issues concerning the events of March 2008, the main elements of the reform package announced by the authorities, and the media environment. They are due to meet Speaker of the National Assembly, the President of the Republic, various committees of the National Assembly, the Justice Minister, Ombudsman, head of the police and Chairman of the National Commission on Television and Radio, among others, as well as opposition representatives, human rights NGOs, civil society and the media.
