Detroit essay competition "The Forgotten Genocide" winners

DETROIT, MAY 18, NOYAN TAPAN - ARMENIANS TODAY. The
Armenian Genocide Committee of greater Detroit is pleased to
announce the winners of the third annual essay competition "The
Forgotten Genocide." Awards were presented to students at the
95th Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide hosted by St. John
Armenian Church, Southfield on April 25. The competition funded
by the Hagopian Family Foundation recognizes and awards Michigan
middle and high school students. According to
www.armenianreporter.am, winners were: High School; First Place
($500), Joy Chern, 11th Grade, International Academy; Second
Place ($250), Ari Sagherian, 9th Grade, AGBU Alex & Marie
Manoogian School; Third place ($100), Rachelle Abraham, 12th
Grade, West Bloomfield High School.
Middle School: First Place (250), Karoun Tcholakian, 8th
grade, AGBU Alex & Marie Manoogian School, Second Place ($150)
Ryan Synder, Clifford Smart School; Third Place ($100), Will
Ridenour, Clifford Smart School.
