On 19 July Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan received Hayrapet Galstyan, director of the National Oncology Center named after academician Faranjan and his deputy Gagik Bazikyan.
A number of issues related to the health care sector particularly to oncology were discussed during the meeting.
According to President Sahakyan oncological diseases are among the most urgent issues the Artsakh health care system faces and raising the effectiveness of their treatments to a large extent depends on close cooperation with the Republic of Armenia.
The readiness to expand cooperation and the need to develop a number of new programs in this direction were mutually noted.
NKR minister of health Zoya Lazaryan and executive director of Stepanakert republican oncology clinic Armen Hayriyan partook in the meeting.
