On public developments for Open Government Partnership-Armenia

Journalists’ Club “Asparez” (Arena) held 3 public discussions in Gyumri, Vanadzor and Yerevan from March 31 to April 8, thus finishing the first stage of public awareness rising about Armenia’s participation in the Open Government Partnership program.
 
OGP-Armenia 2012-2013 Action Plan, commentaries and recommendations of the independent evaluator, the second draft of 2014-2016 Action Plan developed by the Government and much more were presented to the participants of the discussions. In general, more than 80 people participated in the discussions; among them were civil society representatives, public figures, journalists, representatives from local and international organizations and foundations. Commentaries about OGP project were made by experts as Varuzhan Hoktanyan (Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center), Liana Doydoyan, (Information Freedom Center) and Artak Kyurumyan (independent evaluator). 
 
During the discussions it was informed that the civil society has the opportunity to present their recommendations for improving and completing the 2014-2016 Action Plan Draft developed by the Government in the frames of the Open Government Partnership, both to the specialized organizations (until April 20, 2014) and directly to the RA Government (until April 30, 2014).
 
On April 9, Journalists’ Club ''Asparez'' addressed an open letter-call with respective informational content and invitation to citizens, Mass Media and Non-Governmental Organizations, exhorting them to present their recommendations for the improvement and complement of the Armenia's OGP 2014-2016 Action Plan Draft.
