YEREVAN, JANUARY 22, NOYAN TAPAN. A change in the
irrigation water tariff, in some marzes - also in the drinking
water tariff, is expected this year, Chairman of the State Water
Industry Committee Andranik Andreasian announced at January 22
meeting with reporters.
In his words, the tariff per one cubic meter of irrigation
water will become 11 drams. He underlined that the state
currently subsidizes the irrigation water system. As for
drinking water tariffs, according to him, water and wastewater
companies of Lori, Shirak and Armavir will soon submit bids for
tariff review to the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission.
The commission will examine the bids to decide how much to raise
water tariffs in the settlements serviced by these companies. A.
Andreasian said that the necessity to review tariffs is
conditioned by considerble investments in the system and by
financial difficulties of these companies.
